Bye bye, boys!

I am apparently willing to drive four hours round trip for one night without children.

They were supposed to be picked up by their grandmother on Thursday for the weekend, so that I could go to a conference. And then she called and mentioned that if I wanted to drop them off on Wednesday afternoon, that would be fine too.

I could not get the words out of my mouth fast enough...

Now I feel just a little guilty. How eager should I look to get rid of my kids for the weekend?

Experienced WMs, help me.

try sticking your eyeball with a wand of mascara just as you pull into the driveway. grandmother will be touched by how sad you are to leave your babies...

Guilt doesn't get you the sweet sweet WMPs...

However, Miss Paige is getting a half point for her mascara in the eye trick...

My husband is taking the kids camping tomorrow for 3 nights. Last night he said he might leave tonight if the weather is fine. I was almost in tears when it started raining this afternoon. The storm has not passed and I am debating whether to encourage him to leave this evening anyway.

You are bad, bad ladies... :)

My mom called tonight and mentioned that I didn't need to worry, she'd have them call....

and again my thought was "why?"

I tell you, I don't regret breastfeeding my kids, but does it ever tie you to those babies.

Alright that last comment is definitely worth a point. Good show!

You're so right to wonder why have the children call! Phone conversations just aren't worth it until they are old enough to be understood, which is around the time the calls will all be about why they can't get home in time to make curfew. Since you surely won't want those calls, it's best to avoid calls from your kids altogether.
